Wachovia Center Renamed Wells Fargo Center
Wachovia Gone From Philly
The Wachovia Center in Philadelphia has a new name: Wells Fargo Center.
Comcast-Spectacor, owner and operator of the venue, announced the name
change July 27. Workers began removing signage July 27 and all new
signage was expected to be in place when Lady Gaga performs the first
of two sold-out shows beginning Sept. 14.
?As the owner and operator of the arena, Comcast-Spectacor is honoring
the contract as it was agreed upon with the bank that the successor
shall keep the naming rights of the facility,? Comcast-Spectacor
President Peter Luukko said in a statement. ?Therefore, we will change
the name of the arena to reflect the name change from Wachovia to
Wells Fargo and continue to operate the arena as the world-class
facility that it has become.?
Wells Fargo acquired the troubled Wachovia last year and the Wachovia
name disappeared.
Although it took a year for the name-change to be reflected in
Philadelphia, it had immediate repercussions for the Wachovia Arena in
Wilkes-Barre, Pa. Venue officials chose not to renew the
$100,000-a-year contract with Wells Fargo and inked a new deal with
Mohegan Sun, which has a casino in the city.

Joshua Clottey vs Manny Pacquiao Tickets
Joshua Clottey vs Manny Pacquiao Tickets went onsale yesterday at Dallas Cowboys new Stadium. Jerry Jones the owner of the Cowboys was trying to get the biggest fight of the decade but negotiations broke down between Pacquiao and Mayweather jr.
The only question that I really have is why would these 2 fighters have to get together for a match on such short notice. Some would claim that Joshua Clottey is past his prime and has bad hands, but just what if Clottey steps up to the plate and gets one lucky punch and beats "Pacman". What happens to the world of boxing then and how does this effect Floyd Mayweather jr.?

Sun Life Stadium is the newest version of the stdaium formerley known as Dolphin Stadium, Joe Robbie Stadium, Pro Player Stadium, and most recently Land Shark Stadium. No matter what the name is its still the premier venue for South Florida for outdoor events. The Miami Dolphins, The Florida Marlins and the University of Miami NCAA football team will call it home.
