Kathleen Madigan Comedy Tour

Kathleen Madigan is a very funny comedian whose fan base is growing like crazy. She talks about common and everyday events, but with her hilarious perspective you could listen to her stand-up comedy all night long. Kathleen Madigan is a cynic, but aren't most really talented comics?  And besides, she can pull it off, like this Kathleen Madigan-Larry King commentary.  I'd like to see her live and I can definitely see why she's popular with both men and women and with younger and older crowds.

Wanda Sykes Live Comedy

Wanda Sykes is a very funny entertainer and has a boat-load of fans who can't get enough of her live stand-up comedy or her appearances on television.  But I didn't realize how involved and outspoken she is when it comes to the big issues which face our country; she's an outspoken proponent of gay marriage and she's also very opinionated on issues like government bailouts, the 2008 presidential race, and California Proposition 8, and you can hear Wanda Sykes on the state of the economy.  Wanda Sykes has had a fantastic career and she doesn't appear to be slowing down anytime soon, and I'm glad that we'll be able to enjoy her hilarious perspectives for years to come.

Whoopi Goldberg Comedy

Whoopi Goldberg made a huge impression on me (and everyone else who was unaware of her amazing talents) when I saw her in Ghost with Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore.  What I didn't realize at the time was exactly how versatile and talented she is, but it's obvious when you see Whoopi Goldberg on Whose Line is it Anyway?  I'd love to see her live, because I appreciate her perspective and opinions, even if I don't agree with everything she says.  What's your favorite Whoopi Goldberg moment?  And where would you rank her among the greatest comedians of the 20th century?

Sinbad Comedy Tour 2009

Sinbad is one of the top comedians and entertainers in the world, and I'm real impressed with the fact that he's been able to reinvent himself and stay popular for more than three decades.  He's been featured on HBO comedy specials and popular television shows, and one of the best things about Sinbad is the fact that he's been able to keep his act clean.  I'm not offended by language or certain topics, but I do have a lot of respect for anyone who can blaze his or her own trail and still enjoy success at the highest level.  Here's some vintage Sinbad when he was performing for an Armed Forces group.  Where would rank Sinbad on your list of greatest all-time American stand-up comedians?

George Wallace Live Comedy

George Wallace is an easy entertainer to enjoy and root for in my opinion, and apparently millions of other people agree because he's one of the hottest tickets in Las Vegas, Nevada. I'm happy for George Wallace, and I think it's great that he and Jerry Seinfeld have enjoyed each other's success throughout careers. From what I've read, the two comedians were roommates in New York City when they first got started in the business, and Wallace was best man in Jerry Seinfeld's wedding. People love to hear the hilarious perspective of George Wallace on dumb comments, politics, sports and the entertainment business.

Frank Caliendo Stand-Up Comedy

Frank Caliendo is one of those entertainers that you can't stop watching no matter how hard you try, as he does more than 120 impressions of really famous people like George W. Bush, John Madden, Robin Williams and Dr. Phil. The thing is, he's REALLY good, and the Frank Caliendo Bush impression is as good as any impression you'll ever see!  I would love to see Frank Caliendo live and in person, but I love impressionists anyway.  If you've seen him, what's the best impression you've seen Frank Caliendo do?

Dennis Miller Live Comedy

Dennis Miller has enjoyed huge audiences throughout his award-winning career as a comedian, author, television and radio host.  I was a little bit surprised when ABC announced that he'd be part of their three-man Monday Night Football crew, but I thought it was a good gamble on their part and on his.  He's a very outspoken commentator on American politics and he's always good for getting a conversation started.  He was shaken by the horrific 9/11 attacks on the United States, and you can hear Dennis Miller on the Middle East from back in 2003.  He's producing his syndicated radio program and he's still doing live stand-up comedy.

David Sedaris Live Performances

David Sedaris is an entertainer that I'd rearrange my schedule to see.  I first heard him on a National Public Radio program called This American Life and I was totally blown away by this guy's talent and sense of humor. One of the things I like most about David Sedaris is the fact that he's such a popular live entertainer when all he does is read!  But he has such great variety and such vivid and comical details that you can't pull away from his stories like When You Are You Engulfed In Flames.  I think I'm going to try and see him at some point in 2009.

Dana Carvey Stand Up Comedy

Dana Carvey is one of my all-time favorite comedians because he almost single-handedly revived a struggling Saturday Night Live.  I was just like everybody else in America who couldn't wait to see Carvey's imitations of George H.W. Bush and Ross Perot or his characters "Garth Algor" and "The Church Lady".  I know people are partial to the 1970's casts of SNL, but I'll take the early 1990's crew of SNL any day of the week.  Even though Carvey has slowed down a little bit to enjoy his family, you can see from this clip Jay Leno-Dana Carvey Part 2 that he's still one of the funniest men in the world!  What's your favorite Dana Carvey character or skit?

Joe Rogan Live Comedy

Joe Rogan is a versatile perfomer and entertainer who is enjoying success as a stand-up comedian. He became a household name during his time on NBC's Fear Factor and now audiences are lining up to see Joe Rogan's live stand-up comedy. Rogan talks about anything and everything during his live comedy performances and don't be surprised if you learn that there's a Joe Rogan Hugh Hefner connection!  I'd like to see Joe Rogan live because you're never sure what he's going to say next.  Was your favorite Joe Rogan moment when he was on Fear Factor, one of the UFC events or while he was performing on stage?

Bob Newhart Comedy

Bob Newhart is widely regarded as one of America's 20-best stand-up comedians of the 20th century, and he's enjoyed one hell of a career as an entertainer and performer.  Talk about exploding on the scene, Bob Newhart went from a virtual unknown to being signed by a major record label; then his first comedy album leaps past Elvis to hit No. 1 on the charts.  Not a bad start! I've always appreciated Bob Newhart's longevity and success, and one of the best aspects of his career is the variety of settings he was able to excel in.  I'd love to enjoy to get my hands on comedy tickets which featured a living legend like Bob Newhart.

Jim Gaffigan Live Comedy

Jim Gaffigan is an absolutely hilarious comedian, and he's one of a handful of entertainers that are truly unforgettable.  It took me a minute to figure out what he was doing with that high-pitched voice that is somehow connected to his comedy routine but going in a different direction. That's actually my favorite part of Jim Gaffigan's comedy shows, and it seems like those comments get the biggest reaction from his crowds as well.  The first time I saw Jim Gaffigan on Comedy Central, I eventually warmed up to him; but now I think he's one of the funniest comedians on tour right now and I'd really like to see him live and in person.

Brian Regan Comedy Tour

Brian Regan is apparently loving life, as he's one of the hottest comedians on tour right now.  I'm happy for the guy too because he's funny without being dirty or lewd, which is pretty rare in today's live comedy world.  Brian Regan has been featured on Comedy Central a good bit and is touring all over North America.  He's often paid the highest compliment any comedian could be paid (in my opinion), which is that other comedians think he's fantastic.  I'd definitely like to see him live, and one of the best things about comedy tickets featuring Brian Regan is that me and my wife could both enjoy him equally as much.  Do you have a favorite Brian Regan joke or story?

Bill Maher Performances

Bill Maher: millions of Americans hate him and millions love him.  He broke through to the big time after hosting Politically Incorrect on Comedy Central and ABC, and now he's made waves by producing and directing a Michael Moore-style "mockumentary" called Religulous.  He started out as a stand-up comedian and he still performs, and although I don't agree with everything he has to say, and certainly not with the way he says it, I'd enjoy getting box office tickets for a live performance of Bill Maher.  He's a super smart guy, but are you in the crowd of those that think he might too smart for his own good sometimes?

Jackie Mason Comedy Tour 2009

Jackie Mason is a world-famous entertainer who been "knocking 'em dead" for nearly half a century, but he doesn't appear to be slowing down anytime soon. Mason is one of the most popular and prominent figures on Youtube.com and he waxes poetic on every topic imaginable.  This guy has been incredibly successful on Broadway, as a stand-up comic, and has produced popular live comedy CD's and DVD's.  Jackie Mason is touring around the country, and he's someone I think I'd enjoy seeing live.

Andrew Dice Clay Stand-Up Comedy

Andrew Dice Clay is a truly unforgettable comedian and entertainer, and he really doesn't care why he's unforgettable as along as you don't forget about him!  He's certainly not afraid to speak his mind, whether it's to CNN or another comedian like Tom Green! Andrew Dice Clay is still out there performing his live comedy tour, and he's still as outspoken, polarizing and entertaining as ever.  What's your favorite Andrew Dice Clay moment?

Russell Peters Comedy Tour

Russell Peters is what I'd call a pleasant surprise, because I had never heard of him before browsing around Youtube.com and stumbling on some of his live stand-up comedy. I really, really like his style, because even though he discusses some difficult topics like racial stereotypes about Indians and Canadians, his style and stage presence removes any tension from the air and your left having a blast; at least that's what it looks like from the video clips.  Russell Peters is definitely one of the comedians I'd love to see live, because I bet he's even funnier in person. What's the funniest bit you've seen Russell Peters do?
