Laila Ali Boxing Events

Laila Ali is the most dominant female boxer in the sport's history, as she's won the WBC, WIBA and IWBF World Super Middleweight titles.  It's a good thing her career record is a whopping 24 wins and 0 losses, because the daughter of Muhammad Ali has A LOT to live up to.  I won't lie: it's kind of tough for me to watch women's boxing just because I don't like to see women hit nor be hit, and I loved watching Laila Ali and Maks on Dancing with the Stars.  I'm not trying to be sexist, and I for dang sure wouldn't want to fight Laila "She Bee Stingin" Ali; but I just find women beautiful and sweet and would rather see them laugh than fight.  Having said that, if I'm going to watch someone fight, it'll definitely be the great Laila Ali, because she's hands down the best that's ever lived.

Jermain Taylor Boxing Tickets

Jermain Taylor is one of  biggest stars in boxing, and he's one of a few boxers who have been able to win at the highest level both as an amateur as well as a professional.  Jermain Taylor secured a Bronze medal for his success as a Light Middleweight during the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia, and he's won multiple Super Middleweight titles as well.  A lot of people wonder what makes the extraordinary fighter so successful, and you can start to catch of glimpse during this interview where it's Jermain Taylor One on One with a reporter.  What's the best Jermain Taylor fight you've ever watched?

Bernard Hopkins Live Boxing

Bernard Hopkins is obviously a household name for any serious or even casual boxing fan.  But I never knew about his legal troubles he experienced as a teenager, nor did I know how he overcame the odds by turning his life around.  After serving a 5 year prison sentence, Bernard "The Executioner" Hopkins was told by the warden that the future fighter would be back in prison in just a few years, and this exchange helped to forge a resolve in the fighter to never return. Not only has he not returned to prison, he's remained at or near the top of the boxing world for nearly 20 years. He cemented his legendary status in this battle:  Felix Trinidad vs Bernard Hopkins. What's your favorite Bernard Hopkins fight?

Cory Spinks Boxing Tickets

Cory Spinks started boxing when he was 7 years old, but he was learning about the sport before he could even say it.  What else would you expect when his father is a former heavyweight champion of the world?  The southpaw has certainly won more than a fair share of his boxing matches, earning the nickname "The Next Generation".  Cory Spinks' big break came when he took down Ricardo Mayorga unifying the welterweight belts, but the first title defense against Zab Judah, labeled Spinks v Judah, was pretty impressive as well.  How would you compare the fighting styles of Cory Spinks, his father Leon Spinks, and his uncle Michael Spinks?

Juan Manuel Marquez Live Boxing Match

Juan Manuel Marquez is a fantastic fighter who is all set for yet another showdown on February 28th, 2009 versus Juan Diaz.  Juan Manuel Marquez has enjoyed an amazing career and he's one of the top fighters in the entire sport.  The boxer nicknamed "Dynamita" comes from great pedigree, as his brother is a former world champion fighter in his own right. Juan Manuel Marquez has battled and beaten many of boxing's best, and you should enjoy these clips from HBO Boxing showing Juan Manuel Marquez' Greatest Hits.  Where would you rank "Dynamita" on your list of greatest boxers of all time?

Roy Jones Jr. Boxing Tickets

Roy Jones Jr. is one of the amazing athletes in American history, because he dominated the incredible sport of boxing like few others have in its storied past. Roy Jones Jr. essentially owned every major belt you could own, and the amazing thing is he's been able to dominate multiple weight classes, which is a rare feat indeed. There's a good reason why some have called Roy Jones Jr. The Unstoppable and why the Boxing Writers Association of America voted him the "Fighter of the Decade" for the 1990's.  Where do you rank Roy Jones Jr. among the greatest fighters of all time?  Is he your choice for No. 1?

Miguel Cotto vs. Michael Jennings Tickets

Andrew Golota Live Fights

Andrew Golota is a beast of a man, and he's used his boxing talents to secure Olympic medals for his home country of Poland and won the IBF North American Heavyweight Title as well as the WBA Fedelatin Heavyweight Title. He's fought some of the biggest names and fighters in boxing and has used his rare combination of size and smarts to become one of the best in the world. Check out these clips of Andrew Golota in action, and you'll start to see why he was able to produce the results he did.  What is your favorite boxing match featuring Andrew Golota?

Sergio Mora Boxing Tickets

Sergio Mora is one of the best stories in all of boxing, as he's emerged from a pretty rough upbringing to become the champion of The Contender, but "The Latin Snake" didn't stop there. On June 7th, 2008 Sergio Mora defeated Vernon Forrest to become the WBC Super Welterweight Champion, and here are some highlight clips of Sergio Mora vs. Vernon Forrest bout.  He's going to be one of the hottest event tickets in boxing for years to come, and frankly I'm stoked for the guy because of what he's had to endure at his young age.  I hope he makes a lot of money and uses it to give back to his community, because there's a lot more young men who need to be inspired by the successes of Sergio "The Latin Snake" Mora.

Ricardo Mayorga Boxing Match

Ricardo Mayorga is an unforgettable character, both for being a premier boxer and for his effervescent personality.  Mayorga has dominated most of the would-be contenders that have come his way, and most of his success stems from the fact that the dude seems a little bit crazy.  Crazy in a good way, in that he thinks he's the best and that he's unbeatable, and for the most part he's been exactly right. He might be best known for this moment in the ring during Mayorga vs Forrest II, and when asked why he did this uncommon thing he responded that he wanted his opponent to know he couldn't be hurt. Do you have a favorite fight with Ricardo "El Matador" Mayorga?

Don King Bouts

Don King is the definition of polarizing, as he's done more for the sport of boxing than anyone else in American history.  But there's plenty of people who think he's hurt the sport also, and if not the sport then at least the boxers who are central to it.  Don King has performed his role better than anyone else in the world, and he's landed and promoted the biggest fights in the history of boxing.  The greatest tribute you can pay him is to recognize that he's a larger than life figure, both inside and outside of boxing; in fact, you can see Don King on 20/20. He's represented the biggest names in boxing, so what's the greatest fight or fighter he's ever represented?

Leonard Dorin Live Boxing

Leonard Dorin is an amazing fighter who almost never loses....literally.  Leonard Dorin has won 22 of his 23 professional fights, and even though he's focused on training other up-and-coming fighters in his native country of Romania, you can't help but think a boxer with this much talent will get back in the ring at some point. He's proven himself time and time again against the world's best boxing competition, like this battle featuring Leonard Dorin vs. Michael Balagna. Dorin has also medalled in international competitions as well as securing the WBA World Lightweight Title.  What's the best Leonard Dorin fight you've ever seen live or on television?

Rocky Juarez Bout

Rocky Juarez is one of the most exciting fighters in all of boxing, and it's not just his record of 28 wins (19 coming by way of KO), versus 4 losses.  It's the fact that he simply destroys the competition, with a ton of power coming from his compact but chiseled 5'5" frame, as evidenced by the nasty cut Jorge Barrios gets from Rocky Juarez during their recent fight.  I'd love to see Rocky Juarez fight live, because as explosive as he looks on TV or in video clips, I bet he's 10-times more powerful and explosive in person.  Have any of you witnessed a Rocky Juarez fight live and in person?

Felix Trinidad Boxing

Felix Trinidad is one of the best boxers I've ever seen, because he not only destroyed his first 40 opponents, he was able to have success in multiple weight classes.  Felix "Tito" Trinidad came out of retirement to fight Roy Jones, Jr. in 2008, and I sure do hope he'll continue to fight so we can enjoy his amazing talents for several more years.  One of the best fights ever waged was this one between Felix Trinidad vs. Oscar De la Hoya.  What's your favorite Felix "Tito" Trinidad boxing match?

Erik Morales Live Fights

Erik Morales is a tremendous fighter who has the heart of a champion.  When I started reading about his career, I couldn't believe the legendary Mexican warrior started fighting at 5 years old; no wonder he was already one of the world's best boxers when he turned pro at 16! Erik "El Terrible" Morales has taken some time off to let his body heal, but when he comes back you can be sure it'll be more of the same from the Mexican legend.  What is Erik "El Terrible" Morales' greatest fight in your opinion?

Broadway Boxing Live Events

Broadway Boxing is one of the hottest boxing events in North America, and there's no secret to their success.  Broadway Boxing combines great leadership, premier talent, and an intimate understanding of both the sport and entertainment side of boxing.  Everyone's familiar with guady promoters whose words say they have the boxer's best interest in mind, but whose actions say otherwise. But Broadway Boxing is helping put the emphasis and the financial rewards on the men and women who put in the blood, sweat and tears to make boxing one of the greatest sports in America's history.  Broadway Boxing offers a wide variety of weight classes and boxing styles, and you're sure to see some killer killer boxing knockouts each and every time out!

Robbie Peden Ringside

Robbie Peden is a boxing legend in Australia and he's a respected fighter throughout the world, as the Aussie represented his country in both the 1992 and 1996 Olympic Games as ascended to the top of the IBF Super Featherweight Division when he took down Nate Campbell.  Robbie Peden has competed at the highest level, and anyone with ringside seats at one of his bouts knows the fight is probably going the distance. Robbie Peden vs. Ranee Ganoy was a brilliantly-fought contest, and Peden proved yet again that he belongs his spot among the world's elite fighters.  Have you ever seen a fight featuring Robbie the "Bomber" Peden?

Arturo Gatti Fights

Arturo Gatti is a legendary boxer who's known all over the world for his part in the Gatti vs. Ward trilogy, three epic battles versus Micky Ward. Arturo "Thunder" Gatti enjoyed 31 knockouts in his celebrated career, and he's loved by boxing fans for his giant heart and unbelievable determination.  What makes Arturo Gatti special can't necessarily be measured, and whatever the incredible fighter lacks in height and weight  he's more than made up for in sheer will and unquenchable fire.  It's no mistake that Arturo Gatti has been a part of multiple bouts listed as "fight of the year" as voted on by Ring Magazine, and after brief retirement I'm hopeful that Arturo "Thunder" Gatti will lace the gloves up again real soon. What's your favorite Arturo Gatti bout?

Cedric The Entertainer Stand-Up

Cedric The Entertainer is one of the funniest men on the planet, and he's enjoyed a steady rise in popularity and notoriety since he began performing in 1992.  He's been on Def Comedy Jam, It's Showtime at the Apollo and close to two-dozen movies, and his live stand-up comedy is incredibly funny as well. Maybe it's just me, but I thought he was absolutely hysterical in the Bud Light commercials he appeared in, like when Cedric has his Bud Light island fantasy. Whether you liked the commercials or not, you can see how talented and versatile a performer he is, so which one of Cedric The Entertainer's  commercials and movies is your favorite?

Rickey Smiley Live Comedy 2009 Tour

Rickey Smiley has become a national sensation, and one of the coolest parts of his undeniable success is the fact that he's achieved it without having to resort to the lewd humor so many other comics have resorted to.  He's probably best known for his prank calls, like this hilarious prank when Rickey Smiley calls the movies, and this success helped him land his popular morning radio program in Dallas, Texas.  He also tours the country performing his live stand-up comedy routine. What's the best Rickey Smiley prank call you've heard?

Robert Klein Comedy Tour

Robert Klein has been one of America's top comedians and entertainers for many years, and I always associated him HBO because it seemed like I saw advertisements for his comedy specials all the time during the 1980's.  Robert Klein has been a huge hit on the ocmedy circuit since the early 1970's and he's done a number of comedy specials, while also being invovled with various television series. He's shown off his versatility by making appearances in several popular movies, but it's his observational style of comedy that has made him such a hot ticket.  If you want to see a perfect example of his humor, check ou the Klein's HBO Special: The Amorous Busboy.  What's your favorite Robert Klein HBO Special or TV performance?  Did you see him in Reign Over Me?

Louie Anderson Live Stand-Up

Louie Anderson has been one of America's most loved entertainers for more than two decades, and his unique brand of humor has been a huge hit with audiences of all ages.  I remember him hitting his prime about the same time as Sam Kenison and Bobcat Goldthwait in the 1980's, but Louie Anderson was far more subdued and I loved his subtle yet sarcastic point of view.  I know Louie Anderson struck it big when he created the kids show Life with Louie, but he was knocking audiences dead a long time before that; check out a young Louie Anderson @ The 9th Annual Young Comedians Special.  What's your favorite Louie Anderson moment and where does he rank among your favorite comedians?

Lily Tomlin Comedy Tour 2009

Lily Tomlin is one of the most successful entertainers in American history, and one of the best parts about her incredible success is that she helped blaze a path for thousands of female comediennes who would follow after her.  Lily Tomlin has been a hit on Broadway and on multiple television programs; check out Lily Tomlin on Enough Rope.  She's been one of the most sought after comedians in North America throughout her career, and I admire the longevity, variety and success she's been able to achieve.  What's your favorite Lily Tomlin moment?

Last Comic Standing Live Tour

Last Comic Standing is a fantastic show.  I first heard about the show while listening to Colin Cowherd on ESPN Radio, but it wasn't until I stumbled upon some old clips of Josh Blue at Last Comic Standing that I fully appreciated what the show has to offer.  I think it's great that the show offers exposure for such a diverse group of talented comedians, and as good as the show is on TV, I think it'd be even better to experience the fantastic live comedy in person.

Kevin James Stand-Up

Kevin James has truly hit it big by becoming one of the hottest comedians on the circuit.  He was absolutely hilarious on The King of Queens and his stand-up routine is fantastic because he takes common events and makes them extremely funny.  He's from New York, and you've got to hear Kevin James on pizza and NY Delis!  I'd love to see Kevin James live, and I like the fact that he's not a one-hit wonder, because he's made millions of people laugh in a lot of different ways for quite a while now.

Rodney Carrington Stand-Up Comedy

Rodney Carrington is really, really funny, and I had no idea who he was until I stumbled upon some clips of youtube, like this one where Carrington discusses little things that piss him off. He's certainly found his niche as he entertains sold-out crowds throughout North America, and he's especially popular near his residence of Tulsa, Oklahoma.  I'd love to see Rodney Carrington's comedy show live and in person, because I think he'd be even funnier in person than he is on the radio or the TV.  What are your thoughts about Rodney Carrington?

Regis Philbin Live Performances

Regis Philbin has enjoyed an amazing career, and in fact the immortal entertainer holds the Guinness World Record for most "hours on camera"!  Regis Philbin has been extremely successful on a variety of television programs, but millions of people remember him best like this, with Shania Twain on the Regis and Kathy Lee Show. Regis Philbin is always on the go and he's still performing live around the country. Did you like Regis better with Kathie Lee Giford or with Kelly Ripa?

The Smothers Brothers Comedy Tour

The Smothers Brothers have been popular for more than 50 years, and they're still knocking audiences dead like they did when they first got started in show business.  You can see vintage Smothers Brothers with Craig Ferguson on Ferguson's Late, Late Show, and the hilarious duo is still entertaining all over the country.  I first saw them in the 1980's doing stand-up comedy, and I always liked how the brothers flowed off of each other.  The Smothers Brothers are the longest-running live comedy team in history, having celebrated 50 years together in 2008! So Congratulations Tom and Dick Smothers!

Steve Harvey 2009 Comedy Tour

Steve Harvey has enjoyed a sensational career as an actor, radio personality and stand-up comedian.  The Kings of Comedy Tour he co-starred on took North America by storm, and I'm not sure there was a more popular set of box office tickets anywhere in the country.  What makes Steve Harvey so successful is his ability to merge humor with real life situations; it was shocking and sad to see Bernie Mac pass away in 2008 but his funeral was proof that Steve Harvey is a master of the moment.  Check out Steve Harvey at the funeral of Bernie Mac. How high do you rank Steve Harvey among today's comedians?

Margaret Cho Live Performances

Margaret Cho is a very funny comedian who's very popular among the Gay and Lesbian community despite the fact that her material often centers on homosexuals.  She claims she's bisexual herself, which is why it's common to see Margaret Cho making gay men jokes.  I've never seen Margaret Cho in person, but I'd like to, and I have no problems with her humor or with the topics she pokes fun at.  She's either telling the truth or she's not, so why get all upset over a joke?
